Match Review LS7 | Imigresen FC 1-3 Selangor FC | Liga Super Malaysia 2025/26

Selangor FC managed to take home all three points after recording a 3–1 victory over Immigration FC at the Penang State Stadium, yesterday.

The #IMISFC match remained goalless in the first half. Five minutes into the second half, a move from the left saw Faisal Halim make a cutback from the byline in the 55th minute, which was finished by Alvin Fortes to open the scoring for the Red Giants. Immigration FC then equalised in the 66th minute through Eduardo Sosa, but Selangor immediately regained the lead when Omid Musawi passed the ball into the middle to find Chrigor Moraes, who calmly finished to put the team back in front. The victory was sealed after Zikri Khalili provided an accurate pass to Faisal Halim in the 70th minute, with the team captain coolly taking his chance to ensure all three points belonged to the Red Giants.

According to Christophe Gamel, Interim Head Coach of Selangor FC, he praised the players’ fighting spirit and stated that they had shown a good response in this match.

“The players performed better compared to the previous match. There are many positive aspects we can see, but there are still several areas that need improvement. With the time available, I will try to address the existing weaknesses and aim for greater stability, especially in defence, through training. In the #IMISFC match, the goal we conceded could have been avoided, but we have to accept it, and it was indeed a beautiful goal. We will continue to work hard to improve that area,” said Gamel.

“I also made some tactical changes in the second half, which clearly helped in terms of defence, transition, and the team’s attacking patterns. The forward line responded well, as proven by the three different scorers. Most importantly, the players’ reaction showed their strong fighting spirit and desire for victory, despite facing some pressure following the previous defeat,” he added, praising the Red Giants.
